Scheuerle is presenting a world first at the bauma 2010 in Munich with the InterCombi PB. The New Scheuerle InterCombi PB is equipped with shiftable drive axles and is powered by an equally shiftable PowerPack Unit (PPU). Thus, the development from the resourceful Scheuerle engineers replaces an additional tractor or banking machine on hilly transport routes. The InterCombi PB can also be operated as a self-propelled unit or coupled with other InterCombi platform trailers. At first glance, the InterCombi PB is a standard platform trailer from the Scheuerle Combi series, with all the advantages that Scheuerle customers have long valued – same height, same width, same couplings. The peculiarity: it is equipped with drive axles and can also be powered by a PowerPack Unit (PPU). The InterCombi PB can also be operated as a self-propelled unit or coupled with other InterCombi platform trailers. . If you consider, for example, the particular challenges of transporting wind power plants, it quickly becomes clear that Scheuerle has created an extremely innovative transport solution. Extremely large rotor blades, tower sections or extremely heavy nacelles, are transported on a daily basis to the most remote sites, over impractical land and often with steep hills. Essentially, it means that Scheuerle are now offering the optimum replacement wherever you would previously have needed an additional tractor or banking machine. The driver starts the powerful 200 hp PPU before setting off. As soon as a single tractor no longer has sufficient power to manage the incline, i.e. the speed drops below 14 km/h, the driving gear starts automatically, thus, providing sufficient thrust. The additional driving gear also shuts off automatically once the incline has been overcome and speed can be increased again in accordance with the road conditions.
Profitability has certainly not been overlooked. The PowerPack Unit coupled to the driven chassis is a true light-weight. This drive unit is also extremely compact. If you are not using an additional tractor, then, obviously, you do not need an additional driver either. The InterCombi PB is also a highlight for in-plant transports. For in-plant transports, the drive unit with PPU – with or without InterCombi platform trailers – can be uncoupled from the tractor and can be controlled as a self-propelled transport combination using a mobile control unit. The hydrostatic drive, lifting and lowering functions, hydraulic steering, brake system and electric power supply can also be controlled using this unit. Small, agile and extremely flexible!

The InterCombi PB is particularly useful for transporters using heavy load combinations on hilly transport routes. Scheuerle's world first replaces an additional tractor or banking machine here!
This means that the InterCombi is also the right vehicle for normal road traffic in a trailer combination. Once the driving gear is switched off, the drive unit can achieve a speed of 80 km/h in the transport combination. The proven Scheuerle InterCombi technology is also characterised by a stable chassis construction, axle compensation of +/- 325 mm and a steering angle of 60°.
