Manitowoc States its Ambition for Growth in Algeria
Manitowoc is using two Algerian trade shows – Batimatec and Algiers International Fair, both held in May – to highlight its determination to expand and develop in this growing market. The company is showcasing a Potain self-erecting crane and Grove rough-terrain crane at the events with two of its local dealers, Sarl VIBA and Eurl MGP. Manitowoc has strengthened its dealer partnerships in Algeria and now has a strong sales presence, and wide range of services that it provides to customers country-wide, as Carlos Pimenta, Manitowoc area manager, explains. “Demand for our cranes in Algeria has steadily increased over the past few years and the country’s growing economy makes us very ambitious for this exciting market,” he says. “Our customers want flexible and efficient cranes that they can rely on – and that’s what our products are famous for. We have operated in Algeria for many years and have built a strong dealer network and widespread support service. Now is our time to build on this foundation, and these two trade shows are an ideal way for us to showcase our capabilities and highlight our desire to grow.” As well as its direct sales and support services, Manitowoc works closely with its dealers in Algeria who supply its full range of Potain tower cranes, Grove mobile cranes and Manitowoc crawler cranes. The dealers also provide complete after-market services including technical assistance, assembly, handling and training. Held May 4 - 8, Batimatec is an international construction equipment trade fair. Manitowoc exhibited at the show with one of its long-standing local dealers, Sarl VIBA, which represents Potain tower cranes. The company displayed a Potain Igo 22 self-erecting tower crane for the first time in Algeria at the show. The 1.8 t capacity tower crane can work at up to 28 m radius and offers 20.1 m lift height. At Algiers International 2014, held from May 28 to June 2, Manitowoc presented a Grove RT540E with its local dealer, EURL MGP. The 35 t capacity rough-terrain crane is a popular mid-sized crane with an impressive 31 m boom. VIBA also showcased the Potain Igo 22, which was displayed at Batimatec.
