APWA's 2014 International Public Works Congress & Expo in Toronto
The American Public Works Association (APWA) announces that more than 5,000 public works professionals from over 15 countries are expected to converge in Toronto, Ontario for the APWA 2014 International Public Works Congress & Exposition during August 17-20th. The annual APWA Congress will provide dynamic keynote speakers, world-class education sessions covering all areas of public works, as well as presentations on emerging trends in technology and sustainability. In addition, more than 400 exhibiting companies are projected to showcase cutting edge products and services. Known as “The Best Show in Public Works,” APWA’s Congress in Toronto will be held in the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, August 17-20, 2014. “APWA membership includes public works professionals from Canada, and the last APWA annual Congress held in Canada was in 1988,” said APWA President Ed Gottko, PWLF, of New Jersey. “Toronto is an especially exciting location for Congress, because it’s an international city of warmth, openness, energy and style enriched by the fusion of traditions, passions and ways of looking at life of over 100 cultures,” he said. “More than 125 education sessions will be offered on a broad array of the most current public works topics, such as integrating modes of transportation, sustainability best practices, traffic and transit, construction management, emergency management, engineering and technology, fleet and facilities, parks and grounds, snow and ice control, and stormwater/flood control, as well as solid waste, roads and bridges and water/wastewater,” said APWA Executive Director Peter B. King. The EXPO Experience Also featured will be the Technology Pavilion with all of the latest technologies in public works, a Sustainability Pavilion located right on the show floor featuring the latest sustainability products and services in the public works industry. |
