À l'occasion de l'assemblée générale annuelle de ses membres, qui avait lieu le 17 mars dernier, l'Association béton Québec (ABQ) désignait son 17e président, Julien Halde. Il succède ainsi à François M. Bernard qui occupait cette fonction depuis plus de deux ans. Monsieur Halde, copropriétaire de l'entreprise Carrières d'Acton Vale, est membre actif au sein du conseil d'administration de l'ABQ depuis cinq ans. Au cours de l'année, il a également présidé de manière soutenue le comité Promotion du béton, dont les efforts connaissent un rayonnement grandissant dans l'industrie.

Quant aux axes de développement que monsieur Halde entend soutenir auprès de l'ABQ durant son mandat, ils touchent principalement la promotion du béton auprès de ses utilisateurs et la communication aux membres. Le tout, en suivant la constance de qualité technique que l'ABQ a su parachever au cours des dernières années.

L'ABQ tient à offrir toutes ses félicitations au nouveau président ainsi qu'à exprimer de sincères remerciements au président sortant pour son engagement.

Appointments

Ted Bratthauar will assume the position of vice president purchasing for Manitowoc Crane Group in the Americas. In his new position, Mr. Bratthauar will report to John Wheeler, executive vice president for the Americas, and will take charge of all strategic and tactical procurement for the company's manufacturing plants in the region.

A seasoned senior executive with the company, Mr. Bratthauar has nearly 25 years experience at Manitowoc Crane Group. He has served in a number of key senior management positions, making significant contributions in a variety of roles in customer support, global procurement, manufacturing, materials, and sales and marketing.

Most recently he served as general manager of National Crane where he managed the integration of the product line at the MCG facility in Shady Grove, Pennsylvania, while simultaneously directing sales and engineering functions. Wheeler said Ted Bratthauar's appointment will benefit the MCG organization. "We are delighted to appoint Ted to this key position within our organization. He has extensive experience in the field of procurement and this, combined with his experience from operations-related positions, uniquely qualifies him to meet the challenges this post brings."

David Hardin has joined Manitowoc Crane CARE's Americas management team as general manager of Manitowoc Remanufacturing Operations. He works from the Manitowoc Crane CARE remanufacturing operation in Bauxite, Arkansas, US, and oversees a variety of operations including lattice and mobile hydraulic crane rebuilds, component repair, reconditioning programs, used parts and component rebuild, and exchange activities.

Mr. Hardin reports to Scott Alexander, general manager of Manitowoc Crane CARE Americas, and provides leadership and strategic direction for the development and growth of the remanufacturing business. He takes over from Ron Schumacher, who is retiring after 20 years in the industry. Mr. Schumacher will remain with Manitowoc Remanufacturing as a consultant.
