PALFINGER’s motto “We’ll make you more successful” means a company that thinks and acts with the customer and the industry firmly in mind. With the introduction of a special crane model for the recycling sector, PALFINGER is now reacting to increased demand in the area of refuse and recycling collection. The new PK 23501-W recycling crane with a lifting moment of 22.1 meter tonnes is the perfect crane for waste and recycling collection vehicles. The crane is used mainly for emptying recyclables containers for that are installed below ground level. The material – glass, paper and the like – is introduced directly into collection vehicle's compactor unit. The PK 23501-W is mounted behind the cab with the boom system being folded down on top of the compactor unit. A redesigned boom system with extension cylinders enclosed and protected inside the unit meets the requirements of these waste disposal assignments to perfection. The overall height of the boom system and the clearance beneath the boom are essential to this crane design. The main boom is attached at the outermost end of the knuckle boom so that the overall length in the transport position is restricted to a minimum at the same time optimizing the hook height. The enormous hook height means that attaching the rotator and container emptying device is quick and easy. Despite the compact parking length, it is possible to achieve a hydraulic outreach of 10.2 m. The crane's extensive range of standard equipment includes among other things the electronic high power lifting system (E-HPLS), a sixfold proportional radio remote control with LED display, the integrated stability control system ISC-L, a complex system for monitoring the transport position, oil cooler, working lights on the knuckle boom and LED warning lights on the stabilizer supports. The new PK 23501-W has been available since October 2010. Originally tailored to the requirements of the Dutch market, there has since been keen interest in the custom-designed niche product all over Europe.
