Imperial Dade Receives First Mack Pioneer in Canada

Mack Trucks recently announced that Imperial Dade Canada took delivery of the first Mack Pioneer in Canada through longtime Mack dealer Vision Truck Group. The delivery marks a significant milestone as the all-new Pioneer, Mack’s most aerodynamic and driver-focused highway truck to-date, begins reaching Canadian customers.

The Pioneer day cab regional haul full-service lease unit was recently delivered to Imperial Dade’s office in Mississauga, Ontario, and will be used to service southwestern Ontario, covering an average of 800 to 1,000 km/d as part of Imperial Dade Canada’s distribution operations. Vision Truck Group’s Cambridge location led the delivery.

“This first Canadian delivery demonstrates the confidence that forward-thinking fleets place in the Pioneer’s advanced design and capability,” said Jonathan Randall, president, Mack Trucks North America. “Imperial Dade’s selection of this groundbreaking truck, combined with the exceptional support from Vision Truck Group, positions them to achieve new levels of efficiency and performance in their daily operations across southwestern Ontario.”

Imperial Dade Canada, a leading independently owned distributor specializing in packaging, facilities maintenance supplies, equipment and print products, operates 25 distribution centers across Canada. The company provides next day delivery to 95% of the Canadian market and employs more than 1,000 professionals dedicated to providing personalized supply chain solutions to B2B customers.

“Imperial Dade Canada is proud to be the first in Canada to put the Mack Pioneer on the road,” said Rob Barr, senior transportation manager, Imperial Dade Canada. “This milestone reflects our strong partnership with Mack Trucks and Vision Truck Group, and it demonstrates our shared commitment to innovation and sustainability. The Pioneer represents the future of safe, efficient and environmentally responsible fleet solutions across Canada and North America.”

Unveiled in April 2025, the Pioneer represents the future of Mack’s highway offerings with a bold design that embodies the brand’s legendary durability while introducing several industry-first and cutting-edge features. The aerodynamics of the Pioneer, combined with engine and transmission upgrades, deliver up to an 11% improvement in fuel efficiency compared with Mack legacy models, helping to lower total cost of ownership while enhancing driver productivity.

The Pioneer is available in multiple configurations including day cabs and short, medium and long sleeper options to meet the diverse needs of fleet owners and operators across all highway applications. The truck features exclusive driver comfort innovations like the Mack premium seating system with dual armrests and integrated heating, cooling and massage functions, a flat-bottom steering wheel, push-button start and wireless charging options.

The Pioneer is the most connected Mack truck ever, featuring a substantial increase in remote diagnostics and over-the-air software update capabilities to maximize uptime. The new MyMack smartphone app enables drivers to remotely check truck status and control lights and HVAC systems.

Vision Truck Group, based in southwestern Ontario, has been serving the heavy truck industry in Ontario for more than 50 years and was named Mack’s 2016 North American Dealer of the Year. The dealer group operates seven locations across the region – Brampton, Cambridge, Etobicoke, Stoney Creek, London, Brantford and a body shop and parts distribution center in Cambridge.
