Doka Powers Vertical Progress at Century City Project
Century City, master-planned by Century Group and designed by ZGF Architects LLP, is redefining what it means to live in balance with nature. The towers feature 4 levels of indoor amenities, sweeping views, and direct access to vast outdoor parklands, ushering in a new model for sustainable, lifestyle-oriented urban design. In collaboration with CWL Contracting Ltd, Doka provided formwork systems across both towers. The most recent tower, a 39-storey high-rise spanning nearly 3,700 m2, broke ground in 2023 and is scheduled for completion in 2025. For this phase, Doka supplied its high-performance Top 50 wall system, trusses, column forms, and the innovative Super Climber SCP system, a standout solution tailored to the project's unique challenges. Construction at the Century City site required smart, adaptable solutions due to a range of logistical and environmental constraints. The limited crane availability and high wind exposure demanded a formwork system that could deliver speed and resilience without relying heavily on crane cycles. Doka’s Super Climber SCP system allowed vertical construction to progress safely and efficiently, even during high-wind conditions. By reducing manpower needs on vertical forming days and minimizing crane dependency, the SCP solution helped keep the project on track and aligned with its aggressive schedule.
