New NPC Heavy Duty CFA Links Developed to Meet Customer Requirements

Due to the unique attributes of the National Pile Cropper (NPC) range, the inhouse developed and manufactured range of hydraulic pile croppers is now being extensively used throughout the U.S., Canada, the UK, Australia and increasingly, Europe. The latest development to the range is an upgrade to its Heavy Duty CFA Links to cope with even the most demanding of projects.

With a management team with over 100 years of experience in the piling industry, National Pile Croppers (NPC) has gone from strength to strength. The company has been developing and supplying its own line of patented customer focused pile cropping solutions to a wide span of customers, ranging from multinationals working on HS2 high-speed rail network and specialist piling companies, to regional contractors and local ground workers. All have benefitted from the close relationships developed with the NPC team that simply focus on providing what customers need when they need it.

As customer requirements and project requirements change, so does the NPC product portfolio.

“We continually keep in close contact with our customers and use the feedback from our croppers being used in the field to produce the equipment we know our customers require in order to be more efficient, productive and safe. Our latest development is the direct result of working with our customers – including some of the largest civil engineering companies in Europe - on some very large projects that required a heavy-duty solution,” said NPC director, Lee Aston.

Effective Cropping Power
For dealing with augured (round) piles, NPC developed the CFA & HD range, which cuts circular augured concrete piles ranging from 300 mm to 2,000 mm in diameter. Specifically in response to meet customer demands, the latest version of the NPC Heavy Duty CFA Links have a new and improved design to help achieve minimal downtime for working to demanding timescales, in demanding conditions. Since their introduction, they have become the go-to option for the reduction of larger diameter piles, being able to crop piles up to and above 2 m in diameter.

“NPC Heavy Duty CFA Links are proportionally larger than other croppers available. They provide more of the desired cropping power customers increasingly require. This means that they are able to reduce piles of 2 m in diameter, such as those found on HS2 and other large highways projects ongoing across the UK," explained Mr. Aston. “NPC also offer segmental adjustment links to help provide a closer proximity to the pile. This in turn enables the shape tuned chisels to penetrate and provide the market leading break. Flexibility is inbuilt into the design which means that they are modular, being easily adjusted to suit required pile sizes with adjustments of 100 mm at a time without any hydraulic interference. Furthermore, by using the provided lifting frame, restrictions are minimized.”

The NPC Heavy Duty CFA Links are just the latest development from the pile cropping company that has fast become the UK’s, and increasingly Europe, North America and Australia’s leading supplier of pile cropping solutions. It is intended to update the entire product range over the next 18 months in order to meet ever developing customer requirements.
