Vermeer D24 Launch
Vermeer Corporation recently launched its groundbreaking horizontal directional drill at its Pella, Iowa headquarters. The D24 horizontal directional drill is equipped with Vermeer Next Generation technology to help increase productivity. Packed with advanced features, the Vermeer D24 HDD enables crews to efficiently install utilities, such as fiber, power cables and water infrastructure. A standout feature of the Vermeer D24 HDD is its automated rod exchange (ARE) system. This innovative technology increases onboarding velocity for new operators, reduces workload for skilled operators and maximizes wear part component life through highly controlled processes. With a single-button push completing the entire rod changeout sequence, ARE eliminates up to 19 manual steps, streamlining operations and enhancing overall efficiency. Vermeer launched its first horizontal directional drill in 1991 and has become a market leader in the underground infrastructure industry. The D24 is sized for utility installation and is backed by the Vermeer dealership network. Vermeer horizontal directional drills are supported by Borestore.com, which supplies drill bits, tooling and other HDD parts for operators.
