GripEdge™ Introduces 9-Piece RPT Long Ball Star Bit Socket Set – Engineered for Superior Access, Grip, and Durability
GripEdge Tools recently announced the launch of the GripEdge™ 9-Piece RPT 1/4’’ and 3/8’’ Drive Long Ball Star Bit Socket Set (Part No. BST9LS), a precision-engineered solution designed for professionals who regularly work in confined, hard-to-reach spaces. Building on the proven success of its first-generation design, the BST9LS introduces a second-generation Ball Star geometry that allows up to 15.5° of pivot – giving technicians the ability to engage fasteners at an angle when straight-on access simply is not possible. Whether working in tight automotive bays, industrial equipment enclosures, or confined mechanical spaces, this set is purpose-built to get the job done where standard tools fall short. At the core of the BST9LS is GripEdge™'s patented Rounding Prevention Technology (RPT™), engineered to maximize contact with the fastener and dramatically reduce the risk of rounding. Compared to standard tools, RPT™ delivers up to 50% more grip on undamaged fasteners – giving professionals greater control and confidence during both tightening and loosening operations. “This set was designed from the ground up for professionals who can't afford to lose a fastener or strip a bolt in a difficult location," said Jared Kukucka, director of Sales and Marketing at GripEdge Tools. Each bit in the BST9LS is precision-machined from high-strength S2 tool steel, featuring a slimmed-down profile specifically designed to maximize access in confined areas without compromising durability. At 15 mm in overall length, each socket is ideally suited for reaching recessed or obstructed star (Torx®-style) fasteners commonly encountered in automotive, industrial, and heavy equipment applications. Large, stamped size markings with black ink fill ensure fast, easy identification – even in low-light or dirty work environments where visibility is critical.
