HIDROMEK Attracks Attention at SMOPYC
At SMOPYC 2026, an industry trade fair held every 3 years in Zaragoza, Spain, HIDROMEK showcased innovative models from its various product ranges alongside eye-catching new technologies. Spain stands out as one of the leading markets in the European construction equipment sector. For HIDROMEK, it is not only a key commercial market but also one of its priority markets where the company maintains a strong presence through its local operations. At the fair, HIDROMEK showcased crawler excavators, loader backhoes, wheel loaders, and its newest motor graders and soil compactors. HIDROMEK booth was a standout exhibit not only for its machines but also for its technological equipment. Teleopera system, developed by HIDROMEK for its remotely controlled and semi-autonomous machines, was also on display. Teleopera system, which features a seat equipped with the joysticks and various hardware needed to control the machine on-site, as well as screens that provide real-time monitoring of images from cameras on the machine and data from radar, lidar, and other sensors, serves as a reflection of HIDROMEK’s vision for the future. During the fair, the Teleopera system located at the exhibition site in Zaragoza was used to control a machine operating in Ankara, Turkey, in real time. Another new technology showcased at the fair, was the HMK 635 WL autonomous wheel loader. Developed in collaboration between HIDROMEK and the Aragon Institute of Technology (Instituto Tecnológico de Aragón), this model minimizes risk by enabling autonomous control in challenging and hazardous work sites. This technology enables unmanned operation in environments where dust levels may be high and visibility is limited, such as tunnels or blast sites, aiming to significantly enhance operational safety and efficiency. With its HMK 635 WL autonomous wheel loader, HIDROMEK was awarded first place in the “Technology and Digitalization” category of the “Technical Innovations” competition organized by the SMOPYC Organization.
