Nouvelles brèves EPC Groupe renforce sa présence internationale avec l’acquisition de la société Pirobras au Brésil Cette acquisition, qui porte sur 100% des titres de Pirobras, sera totalement finalisée lorsque les dernières conditions suspensives d’ordre administratif seront levées. Cette transaction ne nécessite pas d’autorisations particulières des autorités, tant françaises que brésiliennes. Cette opération stratégique s’inscrit dans la volonté du Groupe de renforcer sa position sur les marchés à fort potentiel et d’accélérer son développement dans le domaine des explosifs primaires et des systèmes d’initiation. Avec cette acquisition, EPC Groupe complète son offre en intégrant une production locale d’explosifs en vrac, encartouchés et ANFO, consolidant ainsi sa présence sur un marché minier et carrier brésilien en pleine expansion. Basée dans l’État de Minas Gerais, Pirobras est une entreprise familiale qui opère depuis plus de 35 ans dans l’industrie des explosifs civils au Brésil depuis son usine basée à Itaùna. Elle dispose d’un large portefeuille de produits et de technologies qui répondent aux besoins de plus de 70 clients majeurs. Pirobras, forte de plus de 80 collaborateurs, a été fondée par trois entrepreneurs. Pour assurer la pérennité de leur entreprise, ils ont souhaité adosser leur société à un groupe partageant leurs valeurs et leur engagement envers leurs parties prenantes : clients, partenaires et collaborateurs. L’un des fondateurs restera en activité jusqu’à la fin de l’année 2025 afin de participer activement à l’intégration de la société au sein d’EPC Groupe. «Pirobras s’impose comme un acteur important du secteur des explosifs au Brésil. Cette acquisition s’inscrit pleinement dans la stratégie de croissance d’EPC Groupe et nous permet d’entrer sur un marché qui présente de nombreuses opportunités de développement. L’électricité produite par les 2 projets sera vendue dans le cadre d’un contrat d’achat d’électricité d’une durée de 20 ans à partir de leur mise en service prévue en 2027.

Industry News Hexagon to acquire CONET Communications assets to strengthen public safety capabilities UCRS is a high-performance communication solution for control centres capable of integrating diverse channels such as Private Branch Exchange (PBX) and mobile phone networks, digital radio, business information systems, public address systems, video surveillance (CCTV), video conferencing, and satellite communication infrastructures. Combining UCRS with Hexagon’s public safety platform will provide agencies with a fully integrated command-and-control solution from one vendor. Successful customers such as the Kassel Fire Brigade already benefit from the combined Hexagon and CONET offering. “Seamless communication is an essential part of emergency response. Public safety agencies must be able to communicate with responders in a variety of ways, making the addition of CCOM’s product suite a natural extension of Hexagon’s technology stack,” said Norbert Hanke, interim President and CEO, Hexagon. “This acquisition strengthens our ability to serve public safety customers today while accelerating innovation for the future.” CCOM’s UCRS solution, supported by around 50 employees, will be reported within Hexagon’s Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial division and is expected to generate revenues of around ~10 MEUR in 2025 with margins similar to SIG averages. Completion of the transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and is expected to be finalised by the end of Q2 2025.

Enviro’s Recovered Carbon Black Central to AnVa’s Launch of Climate-Neutral Rubber Compound “The launch clearly demonstrates the great commercial value of recycling in achieving climate neutrality,” said Fredrik Emilson, CEO of Enviro. “Climarub shows that there are now functioning materials that can fully replace fossil counterparts. The demand for Enviro’s recovered carbon black and oil remains high, and we constantly meet new customer inquiries due to the desire to manufacture products with low climate footprints at competitive prices,” said Fredrik Emilson. Since 2016, AnVa has received commercial deliveries of recovered carbon black extracted from end-of-life tires at Enviro’s plant in Åsensbruk. The delivered carbon black has been used by AnVa to produce high-performance rubber components, including more than 200 million chassis plugs, battery seals, etc., for leading players in the Swedish automotive industry. By using Enviro’s recycled carbon black, the components could be produced with significantly lower climate footprints. According to AnVa, the company has reduced its emissions by over 2,000,000 kg of carbon dioxide equivalents thanks to the use of Enviro’s recovered carbon black. Enviro, together with the French infrastructure investor Antin Infrastructure Partners and with the support of tire manufacturer Michelin, has formed the joint venture company Infiniteria. Infiniteria is establishing the first full-scale recycling plant in Uddevalla based on Enviro’s patented pyrolysis technology.
FAYAT Group Expanding Fairfield County Operations “FAYAT moved its BOMAG North American headquarters to Fairfield County just over 10 years ago to leverage several strategic benefits – being close to port of entry, proximity to an air hub for spare parts distribution, and offering the opportunity for year-round sales and service training – for the purpose of being closer to and better serving our customers. The fact that FAYAT is once again investing in Fairfield County by nearly doubling its footprint is testament to the successful implementation of this decision and the talent and dedication of the workforce,” said Rob Mueckler general manager, FAYAT Road Equipment Division. FAYAT will construct a new 9,300-m2 parts distribution facility to improve its aftersales support for customers throughout North America. The expansion will also allow FAYAT to increase its localization of production for road machinery at an existing facility in Fairfield County. Operations are expected to be online in Q4 of 2025.

Hyundai Presents Action Plans for Waste-to-Hydrogen Ecosystem At the summit, Hyundai unveiled comprehensive plans for the initiative in partnership with Indonesia’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Ministry of National Development Planning (BAPPENAS), and PT Pertamina (Persero), an Indonesian state-owned energy company. Hosted by the Indonesia Fuel Cell & Hydrogen Energy Association (IFHE), the event was attended by key stakeholders, including the minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), representatives from the ministry of National Development Planning (BAPPENAS), and executives from Pertamina and Hyundai Motor Group. During the event, ESDM presented Indonesia’s national hydrogen roadmap, while BAPPENAS outlined hydrogen policies for Nusantara, the country’s new capital city. As part of the initiative, Hyundai will establish an on-site hydrogen refueling station using Pertamina’s existing compressed natural gas (CNG) infrastructure, targeting operational launch by 2027. The station will be supplied with low-carbon hydrogen produced from biogas sourced at the Sarimukti landfill near Bandung, the capital of West Java Province. The roadmap underscores significant advancements in the Group’s commitment to sustainable hydrogen solutions, as highlighted by its senior management at events in Indonesia and abroad. It also aligns with the objectives of Indonesia’s central government ministries and is reflected in the country’s National Hydrogen and Ammonia Roadmap. The Sarimukti landfill in Indonesia handles about 80% of the 1,500 t/d of waste generated in Bandung. In recent years, neighboring communities have faced repeated natural disasters – including large-scale fires, floods, and landslides – driven by the ongoing effects of global warming and increasingly extreme weather conditions. Reaffirming its corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitment, the Group has partnered with Good Neighbors to improve local access to drinking water and healthcare. Collaborating with Sejin G&E, the Group plans to secure the Sarimukti landfill, preventing disasters and ensuring safety, while extracting biogas for low-carbon hydrogen production via Hyundai Rotem’s steam methane reformer. The robust partnership between Hyundai and Pertamina has paved the way for the development of a comprehensive hydrogen ecosystem covering land provision for refueling stations, hydrogen production and transport, and vehicle utilization. With strong support from key Indonesian government bodies, this collaboration not only addresses urgent waste management challenges but also lays the groundwork for low carbon hydrogen production. Building on its successful W2H model in Korea, the Group is launching its first overseas initiative in Indonesia. Following the completion of its vehicle manufacturing plant in March 2022, Hyundai has strategically positioned Indonesia as a key gateway to the broader ASEAN market. Hyundai has previously partnered with governments in Chungju, Cheongju and Paju cities in Korea to advance its resource-circulating hydrogen business. Building on the success of the existing waste-to-hydrogen plant in Chungju, the Group is expanding the initiative with new facilities set to open later this year and next, utilizing organic waste and sewage sludge. In January 2024, at CES in Las Vegas, Hyundai introduced its W2H roadmap for Indonesia, which focuses on producing hydrogen from organic waste. The initiative is being carried out under the Group’s dedicated hydrogen business brand, HTWO, which leverages its comprehensive expertise across the entire hydrogen value chain, from production and storage to transportation and utilization.

Cemen Tech Launches Accu-Pour™ Latest Features and Highlights Fully-Electric Mixer ACCU-POUR provides complete control over scheduling with driver- or office-based electronic dispatching. Users can track equipment location and material usage to make proactive decisions, helping maintain workflow regardless of location. The software also generates digital batch tickets and invoices for completed jobs, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing. ACCU-POUR reduces manual data entry by storing schedules, batch tickets, and invoices digitally. It tracks production data and generates reports based on mixer output. Integration with Cemen Tech C Series mixers, including the C60, automates data recording, boosting productivity and reducing errors. The latest version ACCU-POUR fleet management software will be available in early 2025 with seamless data transfer from existing ACCU-POUR platforms or from an application programming interface (API).
