Hurricane Industrial Equipment Joins Hyundai Dealer Network
HD Hyundai Construction Equipment North America recently announced the addition of Hurricane Industrial Equipment to its North America dealer network. The Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, dealership will represent Hyundai compact construction equipment products throughout the Halifax area and peninsular Nova Scotia south and west of Halifax. From its beginning in 1990 as a used forklift dealership, Hurricane Industrial Equipment has grown to become one of Nova Scotia’s leading providers of industrial material handling equipment representing several leading brands, including Hyundai Material Handling. John Patterson, the president and CEO, acquired Hurricane Industrial in 2007 and is leading the company’s expansion into construction equipment. “We’re in a highly competitive market for compact construction equipment,” explained Mr. Patterson. “It’s a natural for us to represent Hyundai for construction equipment, because of the long, successful relationship we’ve had with the Hyundai forklift business. It’s a brand our customers know and trust. Plus, the Hyundai product line of compact excavators, skid steers and compact track loaders is a great fit, not only for our existing customers, but for a wide range of other equipment users.” John Patterson singled out construction, landscaping and resource-based material handling applications as areas of focus for Hurricane Industrial’s construction equipment sales and rental efforts. Hurricane Industrial will sell and service Hyundai compact construction equipment from its full-service facility in Dartmouth, as it evaluates options for establishing a new facility specifically for its construction equipment operations. In addition to its Dartmouth location, Hurricane Industrial also has locations in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland, and Saint John, New Brunswick. “Hyundai welcomes the addition of Hurricane Industrial Equipment to our dealer network,” said Gordon Plotkin, Canada regional sales director, HD Hyundai Construction Equipment North America. “We’re confident that Hurricane Industrial will make an immediate impact as a Hyundai construction equipment dealership, based on its long-established status as a successful Hyundai forklift dealer.” |
