Asphalt Zipper Unveils Low-Profile Reclaimer Attachments

Asphalt Zipper, Inc. recently announced the release of its new low-profile high-powered reclaimer models, the 300XLP and 420XLP – designed specifically for use with compact track loaders (CTLs).

These revolutionary attachments now empower contractors and municipal crews to perform utility trenching, surface milling, full-depth reclamation, soil stabilization, and more, with power and depth previously only available through large self-contained machines.

Unlike other traditional skid-steer cold planers that struggle with depth and torque limitations, this new technology turns track skid steers and small backhoes and front end loaders into an ultra-productive machine! The new XLP models pack a dedicated 130 hp engine and deliver up to 254 mm of cutting depth in a single pass. The 300XLP cuts 76 cm wide, while the 420XLP expands capability to a 106 cm cut width – a game-changer for CTL users.

“This is a huge leap forward,” said Terry Hansen, CEO of Asphalt Zipper. “Our new low-profile models unlock serious production power for thousands of crews who already own compact track loaders. They now have the ability to do high-quality reclamation, surface milling, and milling jobs on their own terms – without needing to rent, wait for subcontractors, or compromise on quality.”

Key Benefits:

  • Deeper Milling: Cuts 254 mm deep – ideal for trenching, full-depth reclamation, and stabilization.
  • Dedicated Power: Independent engine and hydraulics outperform underpowered hydraulic heads.
  • Improved Visibility & Safety: Low-profile redesign improves line-of-sight and balance.
  • Cost and Time Savings: Reduces labor, eliminates subcontracting, and reuses milled material onsite.
  • Fast ROI: Ideal for fast-moving contractors and budget-conscious municipalities.

By transforming compact track loaders into powerful reclaimers, these new machines help crews avoid costly haul-offs, reuse reclaimed material, and streamline project timelines – all while delivering spec-comparable material for reuse as road base or backfill.

This launch opens the door for contractors and municipalities alike to take control of asphalt work they previously had to outsource. Simple training allows even inexperienced operators to enjoy far greater speed and production.
Whether you’re trenching for underground utilities or rebuilding city streets, the low-profile Asphalt Zipper models bring big-machine power to small-machine versatility.

Asphalt Zipper has been pioneering full-depth reclamation and utility trenching since 1994. Their compact, engine-driven attachments empower crews to reclaim roads and reduce costs by recycling in place, bringing huge savings compared to traditional methods.
