Danish Port Relies on Terberg RoRo Trucks
Copenhagen Malmö Port AB (CMP) operates the ports in Denmark’s capital Copenhagen and in Sweden’s 3rd largest city, Malmö. The ports are located either side of Øresund, a strait between the 2 countries. The Region is connected by the Øresund Bridge, and the HH Ferry route between Helsingør, Denmark and Helsingborg, Sweden. Most ships en route between the Baltic Sea and the North Sea/Atlantic pass through the ports, making the Øresund one of the world’s busiest sounds. “We have had very good experiences with Terberg terminal tractors. In our opinion, they’re the best on the market. They’re virtually indestructible, have plenty of power and offer excellent cab comfort. Cab comfort is crucial during long shifts. Our drivers need optimal working conditions, especially when many trailers have to be shuttled quickly while ships are docked. That requires precision and focus, and comfort makes a real difference,” commented Teis Lind, CMP purchasing manager. The machines are leased from N.C. Nielsen.
The tractors handle up to 400 trailers and translifters every day, transferring them between RoRo ships, trains and storage areas around the terminal which covers over 250,000 m2. “Operational leasing makes business sense for us, mainly due to the financial model and N.C. Nielsen’s strong service setup. Their service technicians can be on site quickly, and we’ve built a solid collaboration over the years – with shared workshop space at the Malmö port and open technical dialogue,” added Mr. Lind.
