Terex Utilities Shows Flex Pro Controls on Commander Digger Derrick at TechAdvantage
Terex Utilities recently announced that new FLEX PRO controls are available as an option on all Commander digger derricks. The company featured a Commander C4047 at TechAdvantage, held March 3-6 in San Antonio, Texas, and recently released a new video about the Commander Series. “FLEX PRO can be configured to communicate with the control stations according to the utility line crew’s needs. It supports below rotation controls like a corner mount swing away operator console, plug and play radio controls and dual command post joystick controls,” said Joe Caywood, director of Marketing and Product Management. The Commander C4047, and all models in the 4000, 5000, and 6000 series, boasts strong work zone capacities for distribution and transmission applications at low boom angles. Commander digger derricks are built to dig holes and set poles without requiring the operator to reposition the truck. “The standard full pressure hydraulic control system offered on Commander digger derricks is known for its feel-and-feather operation and reliability. However, the addition of FLEX PRO controls allows operators to select the engine speed from slow or medium or auto to full speed just by operating the controls,” added Mr. Caywood. Diagnostic information is displayed in several locations for easy access to troubleshoot electrical issues, and hydraulic overload or over temp warnings give operators greater insight into operational status. Terex Utilities is a leading global manufacturer of aerial devices and digger derricks for the electric utility industry and offers service and parts support across North America. Terex Utilities is a business group within the Terex Aerial Work Platforms Business Segment of Terex Corporation.
