Xtellio Expands Telematics to Industrial Heater Fleets
Xtellio, a provider of data collecting and forwarding solutions for rental, construction and utility operations, recently announced a first for industrial heaters. The Pro Xentral Series, the complement to Xtellio’s battery-powered sensing devices, is the wired foundation of Xtellio’s modular data infrastructure platform, empowering rental and construction companies to take control of their equipment data and infrastructure. Pro Xentral devices connect to a variety of equipment enabling the collection of operational data, including engine diagnostics, operational status and engine hours. The Pro Xentral - Heat IQ solution enables rental and construction teams to remotely diagnose, monitor, and manage industrial heaters, helping technicians understand equipment issues while saving unnecessary site visits. Industrial heaters are essential for cold-weather operations such as concrete curing, temporary enclosures and indoor construction work. When heaters malfunction, service teams are often dispatched without clear information, leading to wasted time, higher costs and project delays. “For the first time, industrial heaters have deep telematics capabilities,” said Tom Valbak, CEO, Xtellio. “With Pro Xentral - Heat IQ, our customers know what’s happening with their heaters even before a service truck rolls out. That saves labor costs, yields better customer support, increases equipment uptime, and reduces unnecessary service visits.” The compact device, smaller than a smartphone and only an inch thick, is IP67-rated for harsh, industrial environments. It captures the heater’s diagnostics and fault codes, total run hours, on/off status, and connects directly to the R. W. Beckett burner via the Beckett 7565/7585 controller for power while having a 1200 mAh internal backup battery. The device uses an embedded eSIM card for communication over the cellular network. Designed for fast deployment, Heat IQ installs and pairs with the controller in minutes and transmits data securely via built-in cellular connectivity. All information is delivered to Xtellio’s cloud platform and can be accessed through Xtellio’s applications or integrated directly into customers’ existing systems through open APIs. It also doubles as a powerful tracker, providing live GPS location data that can help recover equipment in case of theft or misplacement. “We’re excited to give our field service team realtime diagnostics to troubleshoot issues before arriving on site,” said Rod Lentino, director of Rental Equipment, Cooper Equipment Rentals. “Developed in close collaboration with Xtellio, Heat IQ integrates operational and GPS data directly into our telematics portal, reducing downtime, optimizing dispatch, and delivering a faster, more seamless customer experience. This is a major step forward in our commitment to industryleading service and innovation.” “Frost Fighter has led the way in indirect-fired heating since 1965,” said Nicole Clancy, president, Frost Fighter. “As the rental industry evolves, remote diagnostics are increasingly important. We’re pleased to support Xtellio’s innovation in bringing improved serviceability and reliability to the heater category.” In addition to Heat IQ, the Pro Xentral Series includes: Pro Xentral – CANbus, providing data on total engine hours, fault codes, and engine diagnostics. It also features tracking functionality and can be paired with Xenses and/or access control functions; and Pro Xentral – Standard, which obtains location and run-time data through a wired device installed with an internal backup battery. It expands data insights even further via wireless connections to Xenses. All the Pro Xentral devices can be paired with the Xtellio Xense portfolio of Bluetooth sensors to capture additional data, such as fuel tank levels, ambient temperature and humidity. This is supporting compliance and quality verification for drying and curing processes, as well as operational insights critical for running heaters and other equipment.
