The SSRS Orders Another RescueRunner Ahead of the 2026 Season
The Swedish Sea Rescue Society (Sjöräddningssällskapet - SSRS), formally the Swedish Society for the Saving of Shipwrecked Persons is a Swedish voluntary organisation that works with maritime search and rescue on Swedish lakes and seas. The society, founded in 1907, is completely non-profit, and receives no government funding but is instead funded entirely by donations and membership fees. SSRS carries out more than 70% of all emergency calls in Sweden and its territorial waters. The SSRS runs 70 lifeboat stations, with over 200 rescue vessels and over 2100 volunteers. The society is expanding its RescueRunner fleet in preparation for the 2026 season. SSRS originally developed the RescueRunner to enable rescue operations in shallow and inaccessible waters where larger boats cannot operate. In addition to being a valued customer, SSRS is also an important development and training partner to Safe at Sea. “Receiving an order for the 88th RescueRunner from SSRS is a clear sign of the trust they place in both the system and our long-standing collaboration. SSRS performs vital work at sea, and we are proud to contribute equipment that strengthens their lifesaving capabilities,” said Lukas Brehm, vice president and head of Sales at Safe at Sea AB. Delivery of the RescueRunner is scheduled for Q2 2026. The order value is approximately SEK 580,000 ($87,600).
