NIB Finances Fibre Optic Broadband Investments in Norway

 

The Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) has signed a 10-year loan agreement with Eidsiva Energi AS to further expand the digital infrastructure in Innlandet County – an area of 52,113 km2 – during 2025-2029.

The NOK 500 million $66 million) loan will finance investments to increase the number of active fibre optic broadband network clients in Innlandet County.

The aim to increase access to fast optical fibre broadband supports Norway’s national digital strategy.

Eidsiva Energi AS is Norway's largest electrical grid company and has been a valued customer of the Bank since 2007. The company is owned by Hafslund AS (50%), Innlandet Energi Holding AS (49.4%), and Åmot municipality (0.6%).
NIB is an international financial institution owned by 8 member countries: Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden. The Bank finances private and public projects in and outside the member countries.
