Liebherr annonçait récemment que Martin Schickel prenait sa retraite après plus de 44 ans au sein du groupe. Depuis le 1er novembre dernier, Liebherr-France SAS a un nouveau directeur général commercial. Christophe Sanchez succède à Martin Schickel aux commandes du site historique de Liebherr en France. Fondé il y a 60 ans, Liebherr-France SAS est en charge du développement et de la production des pelles sur chenilles de terrassement du Groupe Liebherr à Colmar, en Alsace. Monsieur Sanchez a intégré Liebherr-France SAS en 2002 en tant que responsable de marchés à l’exportation pour l’Italie, l’Espagne et l’Amérique du Nord. En 2007, il devint responsable des ventes des pelles industries et électriques produites sur le site de Colmar. De 2012 à 2020, il assura la direction générale de Liebherr EMtec Italia SpA, société en charge de la distribution et du service après-vente des engins de terrassement Liebherr pour le marché italien. Au 1er juin 2020, il reprenait la direction de Liebherr-Location France SAS. Il ajoute maintenant la fonction de directeur général de Liebherr-France SAS. Il y a 60 ans, lorsque Hans Liebherr, fondateur du Groupe Liebherr a pris la décision d’implanter un nouveau site de production de pelles sur chenilles, il a fait le choix de Colmar pour différentes raisons : d’une part, parce que la ville de Colmar était déjà à l’époque un carrefour de l’Europe, entourée de nombreux grands axes de transport. Et d’autre part, parce qu’un site de production en France permettait de faciliter l’intégration dans le marché économique français. La gamme actuelle représente une trentaine de modèles de pelles sur chenilles dédiés au terrassement et aux applications carrières. La production comprend également de nombreux équipements spéciaux pour des travaux particuliers, tels que la démolition, la manutention de matériaux, les applications pontons ou tunnel ainsi que des pelles électriques.
Depuis 2015, les prix ITA Tunnelling and Underground Space Awards recherchent et récompensent les innovations les plus révolutionnaires et les projets les plus remarquables dans le domaine du creusement de tunnels et de la construction souterraine. La concurrence était rude lors de l’édition de cette année. Cependant, le Canada a su se démarquer avec Michael Mains qui a remporté le premier prix dans la catégorie Jeune tunnelier de l’année. Monsieur Mains est né et a grandi dans la ville de Whistler, en Colombie-Britannique. Titulaire d’un baccalauréat en génie civil de l’Université McGill et d’une maîtrise en génie civil de l’Université de la Colombie-Britannique, il a commencé sa carrière en effectuant des tâches de gestion de projet, d’analyse, de conception et de supervision de la construction dans les secteurs du transport, de l’eau et du bâtiment. Depuis, sa passion pour le creusement de tunnels l’a amené à travailler sur certains des plus grands projets au monde, dans 4 pays différents, à pratiquer en français et en anglais, à obtenir plusieurs permis d’exercice et à rapporter au pays cette précieuse expérience internationale. Dans les entreprises pour lesquelles il a travaillé, Michael Mains a non seulement assumé des rôles de direction au niveau des projets, mais il a également dirigé des groupes de travail internes sur divers sujets techniques et a rédigé plusieurs manuels de conception internes à l’entreprise sur divers sujets liés aux tunnels.

MAN Engines has operated as an independent business unit within the Group since the beginning of 2018, which has significantly improved its market and business management. Mr. Lindner will lead the team of managers responsible for strategy & business development, sales, finance, and development at the international engine competence center in Nuremberg, Germany. His goal will be to ensure that the well-established components business of MAN Truck & Bus continues to thrive, to benefit from the strengths within the Group, and to position the company firmly in the direction of future technologies. Mikael Lindner has been in the engine industry since 2003. He studied mechanical engineering at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and graduated with a Master of Science (M. Sc.) degree specializing in industrial engineering and business administration. He was also nominated to a study place on the IFL Executive Management Program FEM at the Stockholm School of Economics. In his previous position, Mr. Lindner headed up the national organization in Japan for the distribution and service of trucks, buses and engines from Swedish commercial vehicle manufacturer Scania, which, like MAN Truck & Bus, is also part of the Traton Group.
Volvo Penta recently announced the appointment of Tony Kelleher as a new member of the Volvo Penta executive group. As of December 1st, he has been appointed as the acting president of Volvo Penta of the Americas. Mr. Kelleher has several years of experience within Volvo Penta in a wide range of roles and locations around the world. In his current role, he serves as the vice president of Customer Support & Training at Volvo Penta of the Americas, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and service. “It is exciting to have Tony on board within the Volvo Penta Executive Group,” said Heléne Mellquist, president of Volvo Penta. “He has a strong focus on the customer perspective and is well-respected across the Volvo Penta organization. I am confident he will support our employees, customers, and key stakeholders in a leading way.” Martin Bjuve left the Volvo Penta executive group. Since January 1st, 2020, he has served as president of Volvo Penta of the Americas. This is a mutual agreement between Martin Bjuve and Volvo Penta. Mr. Bjuve will remain in the Volvo Group and has decided to take the lead on a new assignment reporting to the president of Volvo Penta. The recruitment of a new president of Volvo Penta of the Americas is ongoing.

Mr. Darby comes to VisiConsult with 30 years of diverse multi-industry experience working in the X-ray and CT markets with world-class companies like Philips, Carestream, and Creative Electron. His work with channel partners and strategic accounts is grounded in a customer-centric philosophy that promotes long-term relationships and mutual success. “There are currently two more open positions for automation engineers and service technicians in the U.S. This shows our strong focus and commitment on the North American market and reflects our growth in that region,” said Lennart Schulenburg, general manager of VisiConsult. VisiConsult, located in Northern Germany, is a leading supplier for customized and standard X-ray inspection systems for non-destructive testing and security.
